Thank you all for your responses. After all your suggestions, I'm hesitating between 2-3 ideas for trying a first warrior.
A) Storm Fort-Scribe (1.Polearm or Swords + 2. Hands)
Well, since Fortress is temporarily closed, I guess this guy is ruled out. You could do the same build in Outlander though.
B) Outlander Harbinger : Felar (1. Spear + 2. dagger or hands) or Wood-elf (1. Dagger + 2. Hands?)
Felar spear/hand is a very solid build. It's one of the tried and true builds that date back decades. Much of the best gear is very limited but you can reliably get a decent set and using outlander powers, raise the quality. Wood-elf has lots of nice perks as well. If you're wanting to tank/rank solo, I highly suggest taking a defense spec like sword, spear/staff, or polearm for your Wood-elf. Daggers are nice for protracted fights because they can be used for bleeding, that halts mob hp recovery pretty well but they are not a tanking weapon generally speaking. Also, if you're thinking of doing lots of solo exploring, adding whispers to one of your warriors may be a good idea.
I usually play on players low numbers hours so I'd like something than can solo rank/explore and able to defend (cabal and self) when being raided/ganked by Imperials. I also do not like to rely on Immortals to get cabal promotions so that's why I don't really aim for Maran or Acolyte. Also not interested in writing roles.
As I played a few Fort chars, I'm tempted by trying a first Outlander (being able to camo when ranking or PKing looks like a big advantage) but I wonder if the no-money use is a challenge too big for a first warrior... what do you think?
