Felar spear/hand lets your survive long enough to learn the outlander secrets before the char con-dies. Another option is to learn whispers and get the healing edges. You will heal through bleeding + disease + poison.

--Poison is too strong of a regeneration reduction. The others, it's very possible but poison just kills your natural recovery so much that you won't recover when affected by it but there are a whole lot of cure poison preps out there.

I like w-elves very much. But I also think that sword is a must for them, so I don't suggest your dagger build. Especially as you're going to learn the parry edge. You can use the dagger build on an arial.

You won't learn to use the most of better outlander tricks till much later. But it's not that hard of a cabal even for newbies.
