How do you handle knowledge of equipment? Do most of you keep a database or list of all the stuff you are familiar with? Or do you just about it from enough exposure to it?


I see in logs, or in game where peple can glance at what someone is wearing, look in a corpse, and immediately know what items are better than what. If in a log where they kill someone, take a look inside and know which items to grab quickly before someone else comes to loot.


Myself, I hardly know my way around the equipment at all. For any kills I have ever made, or even corpses I was just a scavenger on, for the most part I would have to full loot all that I could, and then go sit in a quiet place somewhere and work through comparing/loring/identifying almost everything to see what the items are and what I should keep as an improvement. By then there is probably a scathing post already posted about my character being a full looter or some such, when really the only reason I took the crap was because I didn't know what it was at a glance.

I know there are hadfuls of equipment out on the wiki, or in Ite search, but even if the item is listed there, it is hard to remember what the specific`s of an item are in the sparse minutes you have before they are back for a corpse retrieval.
