The only H2H skill that doesn't require two hands (claws) is ironhands.

You can use a shield and still gain the benefit of parrying (ironhands). The only reason I'd see a need for this, is if you're trying to practice ironhands, and just want to be able to last longer. Or if you were a dagger or flail specialist (or stupidly, an axe, sword or mace specialist), and you were disarmed while using a shield, you wouldn't lose too much defense.
