Edges are like legacies. You only get three, and you accumulate points based on both hours played and character age. The better the edge, the more points it costs. You get an exponential ammount of points as your hours get into the 100's, and bigger bonus's for advancing an age (eg young to mature or whatever)

Every point of imm xp counts as an hours played, eg, 1000 xp for role is the equivalent to having played 16 extra hours.

EDIT: dont blow your points on weak edges at a young age! you only get three, so save it for the good ones
