I play the game for me. - it's rare that I send up a pray seeking attention.
From my POV, it seems that the people who have the most problems with Imms (e.g., you) tend to be "clingy" types that send Imms droves of emails, constantly pray over every little thing and engage in behavoir seemingly motivated by a desire to draw attention to yourself. And when that attention comes, and you're doing something against the rules, surprise, surprise, you get nuked. Or, when that attention comes, and the Imm isn't shocked and awed by your cleverness, surprise, surprise, the Imm turns into a Simon Cowell and hurts your feelings. Maybe you changed, but you definitely used to play the game that way. IMO, if an Imm is interested enough to watch me, (s)he'll watch me.
Anyway, it's ironic that I fit the mold of the "Imm lackey" on the forums when there has to be very few people that get less Imm attention than me, good or bad.
