My first two guesses were:

1) Some experiment involving age change.
2) To look for a crash/reboot which I guess somewhat falls under what you said.

I at one point thought it might be an IMM trying to figure out something, but obviously that's not it.

Vitral's had some pretty extensive log-ins, we're talking eight plus hours(it would seem)
