Back in the day I had some successful dark-elf thieves, like before the dex changes and thief revamp, but I've tried two in the past two years and was painful. Doesn't make sense, but back then thieves were overpowered, and fewer skills meant converting more trains into HP.

Not being able to steal away mithril weapons, for one, a big problem. I don't know if you can grease them with grease weapon.

Weak weak con means you have to pretty much gear like a mage. I geared for dam, and in the teens one ANNIHILATES backstab from a human thief one-shotted me.
