Because dex races have low hps, and pincer giants with eat swords with their face and more hps don't make up for it.

Svirf for stoneskin and duergar for dex might be alright, but I still think you're starting off at a significant disadvantage in the passive attacks. It doesn't really have "dex warrior killer" written on it to me. Oh and axes are very very very easy to dodge. Pincer is basically your only damage against dex warriors.
