Here's some info, by and large you'll want to gear up on HP and be a sleep monkey. You can do combat when you get wands, or you can chill touch people in the teens. The rest of the time you'll want to be really careful as you're the second most fragile mage out there. First is a shieldless invoker.

Things to perfect: Sleep, animate dead, forget, power word kill. Everything else should go up on it's own. Perfect curse if you want to do more combat. Forget and power word kill are powerful combat openers. Pwk will insta kill people lower or equal in rank, just keep spamming it as an opener. Forget is handy versus shapeshifters as a combat opener, it stops them changing shape or using ANY of their skills. It's probably the best counter to a fly-to spec.
