I was bored, disappointed with the name-police failing to catch Melissa, and also irked about being renamed several times on names I didn't think were nearly as immersion breaking as hers in the past. I decided to have fun with it, thats why we play - right? I fully expected the denial, and knew it would come eventually but.. it was worth it. I just feel like naming conventions should be enforced universally. I find it hard to believe Melissa ranked to hero without a single Imm seeing that name. Which means one of two things, either some Imm's don't give a shit about naming policy, and some do - so it's selectively enforced, or somehow it's more important that a necromancer named Melissa retains her name in the 20's-30's because renaming her would be too detrimental to the character. I don't buy the second option. You broke the rules, you should be forced to change your name at whatever level you managed to sneak too regardless. Who gives a shit about what friends you've made up to that point... you knew you were breaking the rules when you made the name. The whole stunt was a protest of selectively enforcing rules, which makes the rules themselves seem like a Joke. Anyway, no victim complex here - just peaceful protest and comedy. You can stop white knighting anytime :)
