You see, bash is one of the many forms of command denial AKA, "Lagging". When someone lands a bash on you, the commands that you have entered in for your unfortunate character are denied, or 'lagged' for certain amount of 'rounds' in combat. So, even you were to try and type in 'flee' or anything else, if the bash lands then the command you entered in for your character does not 'go through' until bash "lag" has been resolved.
