A Recessed Chamber in the Tomb 
  This sunken chamber is broad in width and half as deep, the far wall
curved into a semicircle with a recessed, arched alcove.  Festoons of 
stone lotus garlands adorn the walls, meeting where stained stone sconces
have hung in darkness for ages.  Elongated stone figures ring the chamber,
supporting the domed roof above.  Cobwebs cling to the toppled ornaments
of this once elegant audience chamber.  A gong of hammered brass hangs at
an angle from rotting cords in the shadows of the alcove.

With a nod, the Conservator ushers you through the crypt and into a preparation chamber.
A Preparation Chamber 
  The stale air of this high-walled chamber hangs still among the jars and
coffers that are stored here.  An inscription in the north wall sits above
a short, stone construct much like a tiered table or altar.  Near the east
wall of the chamber, three stone slabs are laid out in a row.  To the west
a doorway leads out of the chamber.

Indicating a stone slab before you, he begins pulling stone jars down from a shelf as you lay down with a certain uneasiness.

Disembodied, your thoughts struggle to emerge and solidify within the dizzying darkness of the Conservator's phylactery.

Voiceless, powerless, your spirit has waned in this crystal prison until... words begin to drift into your thoughts: the rites of resurrection!

Slowly the incantation siphons your soul from the phylactery and along the invisible cord anchored to the turbid flesh beside you.
Sensations begin to enter your awareness: pain - great pain - and a cold that burns through the heavy limbs of your body!
The final words of the Conservator ache within your ringing ears...
With a start, your eyes open wide and stare into the darkness around you.
Not without a certain horror do you realize your transformation is complete!
