Near A Vandalized Altar 
  The chamber here is deceptively large compared to the entryway overhead and
a few traces of what this shrine used to represent can still be seen within. 
Although most of the symbols have been gouged and scraped from visibility, 
some of them still remain.  The whole of the ceiling bears a phoenix with its
wings spread wide and a trail of flame behind it, though the various colors of
paint and other fluids that attempt to block it from sight cheapen its effect.
The flawless marble walls possess a sickly green hue to them and they lack the
familiar luster that is typically visible upon polished stone.  A spiral stair
of black steel climbs back to the street level of Galadon in the northeast
corner of the room while a partially broken altar has been placed near the
western wall.  On each of its four corners a small rose can be seen while a
jaguar on the prowl fills the center, although someone has taken the effort to
carve a gnome with a jester's cap riding it.  Large piles of crushed stone can
be seen behind the altar where someone had created shelves to store bottles of
booze and other relics for sale by the guild.  A jagged hole in the east wall
leads to the guildmaster's chamber.

A Desecrated Shrine 
  Marble statues that are lacking heads line the white stone walls of this 
formerly beautiful shrine.  Wide cracks run the length of the floor with 
thorny weeds and wilting flowers growing up from within.  At the western edge 
of the chamber there is short set of steps that lead out of this dark chamber 
back to the street level of an equally dim alley.  A potent stench of rot and 
death hangs heavy in the air, and seems to grow more powerful from the hole in
the floor that leads deeper into the guildhall.  Etched into the four walls of
the room, about three feet up from the floor, are cracked and gouged symbols 
of the gods of Light.  Heavy layers of paint blanket them, making their 
original glorious shapes nearly impossible to discern.

A Dark Alley 
  Cutting between the Holy and Trade Roads on the eastern edge of Galadon, this
wide alley is kept in a state of perpetual shadow from the nearby buildings.
Heavy with the stench of rot and carrion, the entrance of the Necromancer
guildhall is to the east with its entrance a bit below the street level.
The cobblestone surface of the road is heavily worn, as if the pavers used to
build it had been recycled from another section of the city.  It is possible
to step back onto the Holy Road to the north or continue through the alley in
the south, towards the Trade Road.

A Dark Alley 
  This wide, shadow-filled alley runs between the Holy and Trade Roads on the
eastern half of Galadon.  Built from old and worn cobblestones this lane gives
a look at the growth of the city through the years, winding through a blend of
older and new buildings.  Although its exterior has been poorly maintained the
large building to the west has a lot of traffic coming in and out.  Most of
the bodies entering are rough looking, like former adventurers looking for the
lost thrill of adventure and swordplay .  The alley continues to the north and
south with a small stone archway leading into a strange building in the east.

A Dark Alley 
  Just a few paces off the Trade Road this alley is darkened by the shadows of
the nearby buildings.  The sounds of combat and stench of blood hang heavy in
the air from the Warrior's Arena that looms over a small vacant-looking house
to the west.  The worn cobblestone road continues further north through the 
shadows towards the Holy Road or back south to the Trade Road.  A short wide 
building is to the east and despite the high traffic of people coming to and 
from it, there is almost no noise to be heard from within.  One side the steps
that lead to its entrance has a blue banner that reads Assassin Dojo.

have come near the entrance of the Copeham Inn.  Erected within the city
limits in an attempt to encourage tourism and traveling merchants to come into
the city, it has since been declared a property independent of Galadon's
laws and taxes.  Directly across from the inn's entrance is a wide alley that
is darkened by shadows cast from the massive buildings of the city.  The gray
stone of the Trade Road leads west towards the Market Square and east towards
the gates.

the market.  Looming along the eastern horizon is the gate of the city that

High Road 
  Slightly narrower than to the north of the Market Square, this section of the
High Road still has a lot of bodies coming and going.  Along either side of
the street there are large brass posts hung with lanterns used to keep the 
city lit at all hours.  To the east lies the entrance of Choppe's General
Supplies, the clutter within the store obvious even before you enter.  The
smooth white blocks end to the north where the road meets the Market Square
and they continue further south towards the Silverwood.  An assorted mix of
animal noises escape from the building to the west, a sign near its door
declaring it The Galadon Menagerie.

It starts to rain.

  Tall brass posts line either edge of the street and lanterns hang from them to
keep the great city of Galadon lit at all hours.  A massive temple of dark 
stone rises to the east and even the light seems hesitant to draw too close.
Anguished cries and the muffled chants echo off the black walls and the sickly
sweet smell of fresh blood and carrion drifts from somewhere within.  The High
Road is made of perfectly smooth blocks of white stone and it runs north 
towards the Market Square and south to a large intersection with the River
Road.  Through the swinging doors of cherry wood in the west you could enter
Bargalha's Tavern, one of the most revered public bars of Thera.
