your eye is almost immediately drawn to the black stone cross rising from

  This black stone road is surrounded by modest buildings, where the Chosen Ones
make their homes.  The road is flanked by statues on all sides of High Priests
who served their Empire well.  The torches blaze fiercely here, with a fire that
hardly seems natural.  A monotonous chanting seems to come from all directions,
with voices and dialects of all the races chanting in endless unison.

Entrance to the Imperial Anti-Paladin's Guild 
  A perfectly crafted archway leads further into the Anti-Paladin guild.  The
archway is over fifteen feet tall, allowing passage for the largest of all
races.  An oppressive wave of heat comes from within the guild, mixed with
the stench of death and incense.  Though this room seems clean, and must be
scrubbed often, tiny crimson flecks still dot the walls and floor.

The Arkham Sanatorium 
  Only a few lanterns hang from the peaked ceiling of the cramped,
windowless room, offering only the dimmest of orange light. Sets of bunked 
beds stacked three high line the eastern and western wall, their white 
linens stained from the sweat and blood of the infirm. Against the northern 
wall stands a small cabinet with clean towels and metal basins stacked on 
top of it, and a massive trunk used for donations rests next to the steel 
cabinet. The pungent smell of illness is masked by the calming, sweet smell 
of powder blue cathedral flowers that line the open doorway.
