A Dried Streambed 
  A rough path follows the dried streambed of an old river here. What might
have been a wide brook has vanished, leaving only rounded pebbles behind. 
The narrow plains surrounding the streambed are barren, dry and dusty. The 
dried streambed turns to the southeast, lined by a hedge of holly trees. 
To the north the path leads towards the towering peaks of the mountains. 
A small sign has been strung from one of the holly trees, the old twine 
suspending it barely able to contain such a slight weight.

Ajakirahuut selects one of these tools and offers it to the north. A quiet chant issues from his lips, a basso rumble like an impending landslide, and then he faces each direction in turn. The iron tip's color begins to glow as he invokes the Ancients. 

Zarrene stops using a wool cloak with an ebony clasp.

Ajakirahuut continues his chant as he presses the glowing metal tip against the bare skin. A quiet hiss and the smell of burning flesh announce the beginning of his work.

A Path at the Edge of the Feanwyyn Weald 
  A narrow forest path runs here, meandering through the Feanwyyn Weald to the 
east and west.  Sunlight streams through the high branches of the pine trees 
that cluster loosely around the path, dappling the ground with an intricate 
dance of light and shadow.  Rustles in the underbrush to either side of the 
path, though muffled by the thick layer of pine needles on the forest floor, 
still betray the presence of small forest creatures.  The rich scent of pine 
fills your nostrils, mixing with the pungent smell of the forest to create a 
heady, complex aroma that is the essence of the Feanwyyn Weald.
