The Intersection of Corrine and Dragon
The narrow intersection is paved with loose and broken granite
cobblestones, and patches of grass and weeds poke up from the cracks between
them. On either side of the roads stand narrow and cramped buildings in
various stages of disarray. While each building differs slightly from the
next, they are all covered in a thick veneer of grime and dust. Unlit cast
iron lamp posts line the thin streets, and a simple iron arrows have been
attached to one of the lamp posts creating a guidepost. The quiet paved
streets continue north, east and west.

to the pungent odor so unimaginably foul that it can be tasted. Fresh splatters
of blood are visible upon the dark granite stairwell, as though a limp,
bleeding body was drug down here with their skull slamming into every step. A
few, smeared bloody handprints are visible on the handrails, annotating frantic
yet unsuccessful attempts to avoid further descent. A landing leads to a
stygian opening and connects to worn steps that spiral downwards and up with
the air currents.

A rusted ring is barely attached to the granite ceiling here, almost lost in
the shadows of the many gnarled roots that have shattered any semblance of
construction. Deep grooves are visible near the edge and a wooden platform,
almost rotted away, where dozens of coffins have been drug for hundreds of years
to be interred below. The frayed, shattered rope plunges into the darkness below
while the moist wind blows from the west.

Dark majesty dominates this still, sickly sweet room with pale clenched fist
about the size of a human head meticulously carved into the western wall inlaid
with shimmering quartz, so perfect that it almost glows with a dull light.
Everything, from the slight breeze to the putrid stench of rot, seems to swirl
near but not touching this ancient symbol. A misty, dusty air almost completely
conceals the exit to the east as well as the crumbling stairway.

City Hall
Cavernous and uninviting, the sparsely filled building feels cold with its
black marble and red satin decor. Huge marble pillars, blemished with cracks
and chips, support the massive domed white-washed ceiling. Several giant
sconces line the gray granite walls, providing the only light in the dim
windowless chamber. To the east stands a dusty marble counter with a large
chained trunk behind it, and to the south lies a large stand with a faded,
torn banner over it that reads, "Welcome to Arkham". The stand is coated
with dust and cobwebs, giving the impression that there is not much
welcoming going on within the city. A tall doorway to the west leads to the
quiet city street.

The straight and narrow road is paved with loose and broken granite
cobblestones, and patches of grass and weeds poke up from the cracks between
them. On either side of the road stand narrow and cramped buildings. Lit
cast iron lamp posts line the thin street, lighting it in a dim glow and a
simple iron arrow has been attached to one of the lamp posts creating a
guidepost. A low fog fingers through the street, covering the cobblestones
in a misty blanket. To the east stands a large stone building, and an open
stable lies to the west. The foggy paved street continues north and south.

The Main Altar of the Cathedral of the Holy Light
A large altar dominates the center of the cathedral here, carved of pristine
white marble and set into the highly polished floor which has been patterned
into the appearance of a circle of golden stars on a white field. Closer
examination of each star reveals that each represents one of the benevolent
gods that reign over the heavens. Small shrines to the various immortals lie
in alcoves along the length of the cathedral and each is also represented
by stylized symbols in the stained glass window above each alcove. Behind
the altar you see the charity chests, where the downtrodden recover their
possessions, and where the charitable can make donations. The cathedral
continues to the north, while to the south you see the foyer of a domed
chapel. On each side of the altar, twin spiraling staircases ascend the
cathedral tower.
