No, as a stealth class, you could have stayed in the shadows and waited until she was done and then engaged her because it would fit the duergar thug part of you, hitting then they least expect it having just had a hard fight and also fitted better (not completely) with the rager pride part of not standing behind a mob (or merc) to do your fighting.

Each to their own I guess.
