Have you did this only because you are enemies by cabals? Otherwise, such behaviour always was strange for me...

1. You missed the opportunity to make a lot of kills using him. Thief + ap = very very deadly group.

2. You got ap on your ass, which wont be a problem but he is duergar. You can not kill him alone even if jack. And he can kill you easily. I assume he is not a newb, but I have doubts in this.
