**The reason I am posting this is to show a side of Valg that I think most never did.
**Itâ€™s too bad that he has taken on a far less prominent role, because I thought

You find yourself having to peer intently at this painting
to get a clear comprehension of the image, which seems to
be constructed of dark and contorted, twisted forms. As
your eyes analyze the composition, your vision clears as
you make out the figures in the foreground, cloaked
in skillfully painted shadows that seem to dance across
the canvas. They seem to be a variety of humanoids: an elven
maiden, a handsome human man, and a stout, burly dwarf.
They are garbed in gold armor, wielding fine weapons and
sturdy shields, for they prepare for some battle as
they turn facing the darkness. Within that darkness, their
own shadows are cast upon their foes: a drow mistress,
a devious looking human, and a fierce duergar. Their foes pay them
no heed, however, as the drow mistress throws her head back in
ecstasy as some shadow caresses her naked body. The
human sharpens his blade with a murderous grin, and the
duergar sits upon a pile of treasure, greedily counting coins.
They pay their foes no heed, though, only acknowledging
their own interests. As the viewer, you find yourself
wondering why this is, as suddenly your gaze drifts upwards
and finds a fine, straight contour. The realization hits you as you
gaze upon the painted mirror, and your heart jumps as you realize
dwarf, the knight, and the elven maid fruitlessly face their
own shadow, heedless that that which they
oppose is naught but a reflection of themselves. But
this they cannot see, for the reflection is so vivid, so
real, they cannot but drift in a waking sleep. Only a small,
crimson insect, perhaps a beetle, crawling across the surface
of the mirror reveals its true nature.

Before you stands a tall, gaunt figure, clad in the robes of a mystic. Sickly,
blackened hide seems stretched over its skull, and the eye sockets lie cold
and empty. Repulsive by any measure, what graces remain stem from the careful,
almost practiced, way he carries himself. Your eyes are drawn more towards his 
robes, for they are both elegant and unusual. An intricate pattern of red and
blue weaves itself through the garment, blended to a series of symbols and
glyphs. Prominent among these are a circle about a center, a crescent, a
circle above a cross, a circle conjoined with an arrow, intertwined serpents,
a scythe, and a forked glyph denoting lightning. Special care has been taken
in tracing a thin, golden rune denoting a hydra as well... it seems newer than
the others, and woven of a beautiful thread that shimmers in the light.
Various patterns of astrological significance have been embroidered into his
belt, which serves to support a surprising variety of small pouches and obscure
instruments. Prominent among the signs is a stylized sentinel figure, its
spear held aloft. A lightweight traveler's journal bound in a curious skin of
some sort hangs at his left hip-bone, and its surface seems nearly covered by
runes, carvings, and symbolism.

You find yourself standing in the museum proper before the
galleries of the lyceum. There isn't a whole lot on display
here, but it is a tastefully decorated area with clean walls
and a smooth, velvety blue carpet. A large, ornate archway
opens up to the east, allowing you to enter the inner galleries
of the museum here you can view many valuable artifacts and
pieces of artwork from Theran history. There is a small bust
on display here, mounted on a simple pedestal. To the west, you 
can pass through another archway into the east wing hall of
the lyceum.

A cordial, middle-aged woman is here attending to the artifacts.

You are walking along a long hallway in the east wing of the
lyceum. The mahogany floorboards reverberate as your footsteps
sound in easy rhythm. To the west, the hallway leads to the
west foyer of the auditorium. Glancing to the east you can see
a number of historians and visitors lingering in the museum proper
as they await a docent to assist them. To the west, you can may return
to the main foyer of the lyceum, where you can see a variety
of scholars, patrons, travelers, and monks weaving in and out
of the various facilities.

A young woman sits at a loom, weaving a large tapestry.
