I just had the tiger form, a couple months ago, and I don't remember it doing that much damage. Maybe you're right, though.

But I also had the cobra right after the utility changes came in, and their excellent dodge was nerfed down to average. They got two attacks for mangles instead of one demolish, and now have a neurological poison on their strike that usually lasts an hour or two. The tiger also has average dodge.
