  Under the night sky, this road seems to have a longing quality to it.
Stretching to the east and west, the buildings along its length rise
up silently, an eerie glow emanating out of the doorway of each.
Looking about you in the dim light, a tall building rises to your north, 
as well as a smaller one to your south, their doors nothing
more than long-ago rotted piles of wood debris.

  A plateau opens up to the east, and the ghostly images of buildings 
appear into view among the shadows of the night.  They look to have been 
abandoned for many years, and while not in a state where they have yet 
begun to crumble, they look fairly covered in weeds, and are hard
to make out much beyond these facts.  The road looks like a carpet of
weeds, but seems stable enough to walk on insofar as you can tell.
You could venture into the town, or head west into a mountain pass.

You also catch a glimpse of a small stone marker off to the side of the 
path.

At a Bend in the Rubble-Strewn Path
  It is difficult to see on this path, and small bits of rock and stone
crunch underfoot as you move.  A low whistling wind drifts up to your
ears, and you realize that you stand very close to what must be a chasm 
of some sort.  The path does continue to the north and east, but the 
wind seems loudest from the west, a signal that perhaps it would not be
wise to venture too far in that direction.

A Narrow Sewer Junction
  The gray stone and mortar walls of the sewer here are barely visible
beneath the layer of grime that coats almost every surface in this
portion of the sewers. The ceiling is low, and water slowly seeps
through cracks from the upper levels of the sewer system. Watery
sewage here is ankle-deep and polluted with brackish filth. The 
junction extends east, west, and north.

Just Upriver from the Falls
  High up in the mountains, rocks steer the fast rushing water of Voralia's Tears
as it moves swiftly out of the mountains. Clear, cold blue water lies below
you, giving you the feeling of great purity and power. While the river is
not very wide here compared to what it will become, its power is no less
