No, I do not know about that item.. but it doesn't alter my opinion.

November 24, 2009 10:52PM
I don't see why we should be any more restrictive than the IMMs feel is necessary. I'm looking at the thread on officials, and it seems to me as though the only things they care about are: (1) ABS, (2) areas explore, (3) limited preps (wary, but not per se precluded), and (4) brand new areas. So, yeah, I think we should go ahead and adopt those guidelines as a community.

Beyond that, lately I've become more open to loosening up the OOC availability of CF items for a variety of reasons. For example, I think it's silly that most people get this information through more secretive OOC sources like chatrooms, IMs, talking with friends, etc. I mean, if Chris Warren started playing CF tomorrow, he could log into #dangerroom, chat a couple people up, and have a full prep list without having to do any of the work himself. So I think that's lame to give those people some kind of advantage. I'm also compelled by my first few days playing CF when Zulg's old website was up along with a couple others - they showed prep properties and general locations. That kind of thing inspired me to go out and find them because until I saw those lists, I thought kobold gear was the greatest thing ever. If I hadn't seen those lists and known the depth behind CF, I'm not 100% sure I'd still be playing.

The above is just my opinion. Of course, I'm going to follow the rules of this forum as they exist now, but I think they should be revisited once the IMMs fully weigh in on that thread on the official forums.

What about one of those return wands? Someone posted a log with one I believe

Stevers 544 November 23, 2009 05:07AM

Can't share location of wands etc

daurwyn(VIP) 578 November 23, 2009 08:05AM

You can buy a staff of return in Galadon. Christ people, are we serious? We're not talking about shit sold in Galadon now? NT

Sam 348 November 24, 2009 09:52AM

Well duder, can we point to diku's?

Jib 381 November 24, 2009 07:35AM

I was pretty positive that even the imm's don't question stuff for sale in major cities...

GreenLantern 415 November 24, 2009 04:13AM

But they do question other things

daurwyn(VIP) 464 November 24, 2009 04:33AM

never mind!! delete my post... ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! (n/t)

GreenLantern 428 November 24, 2009 11:06AM

Maybe it's listed as something other than "return wand." Maybe. ~

_Magus_ 362 November 24, 2009 06:19AM

You can't share locations about barriers. Return wands are fine and for sale. Don't be a ritard. n/t

jalim 449 November 23, 2009 11:58AM

Ritards are in music. Retards are in real life. (n/t)

sleepy 391 November 23, 2009 01:44PM

No you got it wrong. What a ritard. n/t

jalim 404 November 23, 2009 02:40PM

I lol'ed (n/t)

GreenLantern 1115 November 24, 2009 04:11AM

I don't think it was a sliding scale

Moderators are with Daurwyn.

The Forsaken(VIP) 438 November 23, 2009 03:21PM

Are you kidding me? Policing these things as a community has worked fine for years. nt

Splntrd 1050 November 24, 2009 05:50AM

Sorry newbs, the learning curve got even more harsh. Lets complain about low numbers some more. n/t

jalim 338 November 23, 2009 05:09PM

Learning curve?

Give a man a fish... teach a man to fish

daurwyn(VIP) 418 November 23, 2009 10:41PM

It's okay if you have those ideals, but...

Splntrd 518 November 24, 2009 05:58AM

Hey

daurwyn(VIP) 393 November 24, 2009 12:23PM

The question wasn't hey whats so great about return wands, it was 'Where do I get an easy one?' Weak people have to draw power from somewhere though, you go girl. n/t

jalim 395 November 24, 2009 02:01AM

should we also therefore allow sharing of quests with weak rewards?

daurwyn(VIP) 448 November 24, 2009 04:41AM

Slippery slope; logical fallacy. We're talking about wands and preps, not quests. nt

Splntrd 356 November 24, 2009 05:59AM

Not really.

daurwyn(VIP) 428 November 24, 2009 11:50AM

Isildur(VIP) 555 November 24, 2009 04:49AM

If I'm reading you correctly, I agree

_Magus_ 478 November 24, 2009 06:17AM

That said, there's no wand of return in a major city

A return staff has less impact on game balance

A return wand has less impact on game balance

alansmithee 503 November 25, 2009 08:19AM

I realise that

Isildur(VIP) 434 November 25, 2009 05:46AM

important, yes, but

daurwyn(VIP) 444 November 25, 2009 10:36PM

But again, it's subjective

There's shops northeast of Voralian? nt

Java 399 November 24, 2009 06:50AM

Am guessing he meant southeast and was referring to the Bazaar. nt

Isildur(VIP) 384 November 24, 2009 02:37PM

No. I meant north east. nt

daurwyn(VIP) 377 November 24, 2009 10:41PM

Tribunal cities should be fair game. Everything else, they need to figure it out IC. ~

_Magus_ 438 November 24, 2009 06:18AM

I agree with Daevryn. Anything is fair game except: area explore, limited preps, and ABS.

Balrahd(VIP) 465 November 24, 2009 11:37AM

You realise

daurwyn(VIP) 522 November 24, 2009 11:52AM

No, I do not know about that item.. but it doesn't alter my opinion.

Balrahd(VIP) 445 November 24, 2009 10:52PM

That's the thing

daurwyn(VIP) 492 November 26, 2009 10:47AM

ono ur leet skillz r in jepardy. Stop being a douche. srsly n/t

jalim 292 November 24, 2009 12:13PM

You realise I rarely use these items?

daurwyn(VIP) 494 November 24, 2009 12:24PM

Because Evil Conjurers are something newbs typically play and do well with anyway.

Starscream 478 November 24, 2009 01:10PM

What has this to do with conjurers?

daurwyn(VIP) 478 November 24, 2009 10:42PM

Your argument is so flawed it hurts me to read it

vortex_magus 530 November 25, 2009 09:52AM

Umm. I think you just posted the same thing as before?

daurwyn(VIP) 436 November 26, 2009 10:50AM

You really think this info would NOT be beneficial to noobs?

cointreau 475 November 25, 2009 09:40AM

Have you ever complained about preps being moved?

daurwyn(VIP) 417 November 26, 2009 10:52AM

Heck ya baby. Post those lists and spoon feed me :P (n/t)

madcap 377 November 24, 2009 11:46AM

We'll talk about this. I think that could be reasonable. nt

The Forsaken(VIP) 490 November 24, 2009 08:23AM

Cosign. nt

Java 307 November 24, 2009 06:50AM

Actually it's quite the opposite

daurwyn(VIP) 322 November 24, 2009 04:37AM

What the hell?

vortexmagus 378 November 23, 2009 11:26PM

I'll elaborate

daurwyn(VIP) 397 November 24, 2009 04:38AM

Re: I'll elaborate

Stevers 593 November 24, 2009 04:45AM

If they had area knowledge

daurwyn(VIP) 507 November 24, 2009 05:18AM

Well, to play devil's advocate

_Magus_ 389 November 24, 2009 02:07AM

I have to agree with Jalim on this one...

BattleCharmed 458 November 23, 2009 02:57PM

Well technically all food items are preps then and you shouldn't share pies are for sale in Galadon and any log of someone eating should be removed. n/t

jalim 434 November 23, 2009 02:41PM

Stop being rational. NT

Batman 305 November 23, 2009 03:22PM

I don't think anyone suggested a sliding scale, dude. Ordinary preps are okay. ABS and anything from an area explore is not. That's pretty simple.

Splntrd 441 November 23, 2009 02:41PM

So how about you read my post

daurwyn(VIP) 388 November 23, 2009 10:40PM

So how about, I fucking did. Did you read mine? nt

Splntrd 452 November 24, 2009 05:52AM

I read your one here

daurwyn(VIP) 370 November 24, 2009 12:07PM

That argument is a terrible one.

Think that if you like.

A few tips on escaping when you dont have potions.

Moligant 466 November 23, 2009 08:28AM

There's a really common, easy-to-get teleport potion that also (used to/still does?) can cure low-level blindness. nt
