Didn't play the game since Chrichuk (2008) pretty much, had a short stab last summer with another voker but deleted with lack of time.
Came back as a short stint of unemployment (I have contract beginning start July) gave me free time, and I was pretty determined to try team goodie for a change. I tried first rolling a dwarf warrior, but man it was just too painfull, picked wrong setup etc. Decided to fuck it, since I had limited time to play a character anyways, I decided to pick something that works and rolled with Liantae's build, but for fort.
Build was good, took a while to get into how to fight and what exactly I can take. It was kinda feeling like I was picking up speed, starting to win some fights and get some kills, also started to have decent eq. Turns out warriors need good equipment :P
About Fortress, man, I can't take that stuff, it's really difficult to fight tough opposition when everything is a disorganized clusterfuck usually. Last night I was trying to put up a group to raid Empire (with 2 defenders), and literally waited on Aryth (so Fessara can't stalk) for 21 minutes before anyone showed up. By then Imperials had quit and it was an us vs inners awesomely interactive group PvE experience. After that I tried to suggest some challenging PvE, and got cursed out by a cabal leader, spiced up with loads of typoed profanity. Seriously, if you want to win, gotta be more organized. Fort doesn't have hiding skills or great powers in general if you want to win vs enemy groups and especially undeads, you GOT TO STAY ORGANIZED AND TOGETHER. It doesn't make sence to make a 3 on 2 in your favor 3x 1 on 2 in their favor because at any given time 2 people are trying to heal scourge and the unsourged dude is charging like an idiot.
I tried to be there for my cabal mates and the cabal, even though when I entered the hero range I was playing really conservative trying to get back into the jive of warrior PK (my last warrior was Eqithan or Gharahka, forgetting timeline, but prob 8 years ago). Oh, and it was difficult to learn that I can't bash. Warriors should bash.
Uninduction: I got uninducted for killing too many cityguards. My first wanted flag was for attacking Jermet in Galadon, I shortly after lost the flag to mobdeath. Second flag came when we went to raid Empire with Goraldhin vs. Jermet and Zhabala defending + provost having guard attack Goraldhin while he stayed duo. I ended up attacking his special guards and got wanted for aiding criminals. There I decided IC that since I was CG anyways that fuck it, if the law forbids Erithyl for standing for her cabalmates the law is fubar. Might've made a role entry, but I prefer playing the game over essay writing. Third flag was attacking Azhag in Voralian, admitted my own attack but tried to tell Hiltripim that I was the only one fighting as I got autoassisted by 2 cabalmates, didn't go as planned.
Anyways, without much warning I got uninducted without a warning. I think from my perspective it was pretty harsh, and while Avderlain was really supportive of trying redeem the character I fealt like I didn't want to do what would take ages in my playtime span grinding myself back in. I play a lot during silent hours, and I put in over 100 hours in roughly 3 weeks, this means that at best I was looking at 30-40 hours and likely more before getting reinducted, and likely no chance of reaching maran before my season starts, so I decided that's it for this summer.
Goodbyes:
Jermet: Good enemy, I was really frustrated in the beginning because I was getting fucked five ways, but as I started getting better eq I was feeling like I can go toe to toe, and in groups you were in actual danger of dying. Two times I think it was a matter of hitting those pincers. Summoners just make it annoying when you can't semi-afk in cabal HQ for a bit when feeling tired so fighting you required 100% focus all the time. That's why I was often logging on for an hour and taking half an hour break, then logging on, if it seemed weird.
Orcs: You guys had my number at first before I got into the jive and got some weapons that you weren't resistant to. Then it seemed like it was turning around big time. Azhag, I will post the log if I can get it from buffer, but I had 63 hps at the end of the retrieval earlier today. I have great respect for you guys playing orcs, for the two way lethality of PK. Feels like orc is the true glass cannon of cf, where you either kill or get killed. Roses are bash... I just enjoy the PvE aspect of CF too much to handle orcing it up, otherwise I'd love to bring the bash on. I'm pussy and need tankyness.
Zhabala: god the tattoo... managed to gang you down tho, even though the PKs I think weren't landed by me.
Fessara: please flush yourself down the drain. You never got me, which I find weird, but man. I know you are given the option of going assassinate assassin, but it doesn't mean you have to take it. Assassinating enhances no one's playing experience, but it's a great detriment. I disagree greatly with the risks involved with assassinate, massively increasing lag on failed assassinate, maybe to something like 2->20 combat rounds would be nice, but regardless. Anyone playing an assassinating assassin is a dickless fuckwit imo, and you are one. Congratulations, you are detrimental to everyone else's fun!
Liffy: wtf?
Adesoka: At first it seemed like you were really doing something I couldn't, but then I started figuring it out a bit better. Like not using physical weapons on physical resist orcs. You were agressive and it was fun running around with you
Goraldhain: You sure bombed a lot of damage, feels like running together we could've been pretty lethal, shame we didn't do it more.
Ashworth: You were also disciplined and ready to fight at all times and also organized in group fights.
Otherwise, way too much hassling around.
I will see if I find the will to play a bit of something still this summer, but if not I think I'll be trying to do a bit better come next May.
