Thanks. Google dns gives the same as carrionfields.net (or by ip) it's fine fine fine.. then spikes to 2k or more ms and then gives timeouts for a while, then goes back. it's on 2.4 and while the router is dual band I had to set it to single band because androids apparently have issues with this one (it's a BEC) and dual band. but I'll see how much interference we have .. though odds are the only thing in the air here is my stuff since we are WAY waaaaay out in the country. LOCALS go.. "you live Where? ... never heard of it." hahaha.
I'm going to try a secondary wireless that I think I can rig as a repeater, and make that one single band for the androids and on a different channel, and make the original back to dual. Well first I guess I gotta find out if it is something else in my pc. Hell for all I know the isp is like.. wait data moving on an oddball port.. kill that shit! (side notes: ) no torrent stuff running anywhere in the network, and at one point I went through a vpn, and it went from super lag to normal.. for a little while then suddenly back to the same thing.. still might be the isp though as they seem to have outside access to the router. not familiar with this one's settings yet but I'll find where to kill remote access sooner or later.
