it's 2018. Muds are in decline. In its hayday, grinding gold to just throw away was not good game design. Today it is especially BAD game design.

Jormyr, Umiron, Korsgaard. From your posting on gameplay, and attitudes in game... You guys seem to think everybody should be investing hundreds of hours into CF. You are out of touch. The game needs staff who understands the casual player. The staff needs somebody who knows how to code, who understands game balance, who listens to players and makes changes. How long have dex races been running the show? How long has throw been imbalanced? We're talking about decades of time where the entire playerbase unites to say the same thing.. .and you guys are either deaf or incompetent. Seems like the only time BALANCE is addressed is by a malicious coder (daevryn) who is simply trying to cheat. We need staff who understands that the game needs to be made more newbie friendly, casual player friendly, and balanced.


I can cite as much research as to why grinding / tedious shit / time sinks are bad game design. I don't think I should have to.
