"The thing that allows this to work is, in the past, the losing party and its members says, 'okay, election is over, let's let this guy do his thing and have faith in America and in the process'."
The fact that you can write this with a straight enervates and renders unreadable anything else you write. The republican party, publicly, said it would oppose everything Obama did, literally on inauguration day, and then proceeded to do so, up to and including violating the constitution by saying a sitting president cannot appoint a supreme court justice in the last year of his term. The problem of the losing party not letting the winner do his thing and have faith in America and the process began in 2009, with the same people who support the current scumbag who is in the white house.
As an aside, in respect of the supreme court nomination under Obama, you know who would have been most upset at McConnell and the other senate republicans for what they did? Scalia. He would have excoriated them so harshly they would have bled from their pores.
