If U.S. sets foot in NK, neither Russia nor China are gonna sit and wait. That's one of the main reasons U.S. won't set a foot in NK while there's someone half-sane in the office.

I agree the US shouldn't ever set foot in NK. This would be disastrous, especially in light of how North Koreans view Americans, and the historic propaganda which goes back generations telling its people we'll come to rape and pillage. However, I'm not against bombing military targets there the second one of their missiles is launched at a low-trajectory attack pattern (like toward Guam for instance).

As for the "why are China and Russia sitting out" issue - simply because we don't have problems with NK. Neither needs NK warmongering in the East China so we don't need to hype about Kim Jong Un being a bloodthirsty lunatic. We are neighbours, have contacts, embassies, common projects, hands on the ground, we don't need to slam down NK b/c we know the limits of its nuclear and missile programs (and b/c U.S. base in SK pisses us both off).

Interesting to note that you don't see KJU as a threat. I suppose it's because he's not threatening you or your family. With all due respect I think you are misplacing who is the aggressor here (hint: it's not the US-- at least not yet). Let me ask you something, if someone comes at you with a knife, do you wait until it is swinging at you to react? Do you wait until is plunged into your chest?

If NK really had serious progress with nuclear program - I bet you my fancy hat we'd address this a.s.a.p. But it doesn't, so we're better off collaborating instead of raising bets and screaming.

I'd prefer to take action before they get fully operational. Can you honestly not see where this is going? Can you tell me with a straight face that sometime down the road-- maybe 1 year, maybe 20 years, that NK will not have full nuclear capabilities? Am I really just a victim of US propaganda and KJU actually, really wants to be friends and all of this is just make-believe? No dude, these guys have been building for this for literal decades, if you understand history, they don't really like the US very much. I don't really care who is at fault either-- the seeds were planted in the 40's or 50's (edit: probably before, technically, but no reason to take it further), so if those fucks don't want to let it go, then they can be purged from future history, as far as I'm concerned.

As a side note, I would bet good money that China is intentionally feeding NK tech and money in order to destabilize the area. I wouldn't be particularly surprised if Russia was doing the same. In fact, North Korea, China (and probably Russia as well), thinks they are being very clever and smart with causing this chaos, and forcing our hand. I understand that they have already thought out several steps ahead.. The one thing that makes me sleep well at night is that President Mattis is really the guy in charge of the military (not Trump), and he is much wiser and powerful than these people understand. Trust me, the game will be played on our terms one way or another.

6 months in I am curious about the thoughts of those who supported trump?

Quas July 28, 2017 04:24PM

Still optimistic.

Death_Claw August 09, 2017 09:42AM

NK is probably the biggest risk in terms of war..

istirith August 09, 2017 01:05PM

Re: NK is probably the biggest risk in terms of war..

demos August 09, 2017 08:15PM

How?

Rhyaldrin August 09, 2017 05:48PM

People think war is implausible..

istirith August 10, 2017 02:05AM

This is interesting reasoning

Kstatida August 10, 2017 02:22AM

While they probably don't..

istirith August 10, 2017 02:51AM

Longterm (50-100 years)

Kstatida August 10, 2017 12:44AM

Why are China and Russia sitting out?

Jib August 10, 2017 07:58AM

I have addressed that

Kstatida August 10, 2017 09:02AM

I think the problem is that DPRK is not going to stop trying to get a credible nuclear deterrent

starbright August 10, 2017 09:54AM

You are correct.

Jib August 10, 2017 10:07AM

Yeah good point. Nuclear arms being in the hands of big states has good rationale behind it, and I'm generally in support of that.

starbright August 10, 2017 10:13AM

No, you are right, invasion is not a good solution.

Jib August 10, 2017 10:57AM

So what if he's not acting?

istirith August 10, 2017 10:04AM

No mad ruler survives for long

Kstatida August 10, 2017 11:59AM

Then we are all fucked. Assuming he's mad, what would the best thing to do be?

starbright August 10, 2017 10:09AM

True, but..

istirith August 10, 2017 10:14AM

Interesting.

Jib August 10, 2017 09:51AM

Re: Interesting.

Kstatida August 10, 2017 11:20AM

You tend to do this, every time I have a discussion with you...

Jib August 10, 2017 01:12PM

Sorry, dude, I didn't read your answer because of the following:

Kstatida August 11, 2017 12:16AM

Wow man. I overestimated your intellect, I think. I'll try and dumb it down next time.

Jib August 11, 2017 07:53AM

Please do (n/t)

Kstatida August 11, 2017 09:13AM

starbright August 10, 2017 11:25AM

Are you serious?

Kstatida August 10, 2017 11:55AM

I'm not that well informed on the specifics of military weapons

Why would you destabilize your own backyard?

starbright August 10, 2017 10:06AM

Re: Why would you destabilize your own backyard?

Jib August 10, 2017 10:38AM

On McCain..

istirith August 10, 2017 03:02AM

Kstatida August 10, 2017 03:11AM

All things considered he's done a good job.

istirith August 02, 2017 09:47PM

Somewhat irrelevant, but some thoughts on the greater scale

Kstatida August 03, 2017 12:49AM

I think you'd be surprised.

istirith August 03, 2017 12:15PM

Which ones?

demos August 04, 2017 09:11PM

I have to disagree with that second paragraph, because it's incorrect. (n/t)

Flipside Oreo August 05, 2017 10:14AM

Can I? Can I?

Kstatida August 01, 2017 08:26AM

I'd rather ask "Now that you have Media, Congress and Senate assramming your President for six months, what are your thoughts?"

istirith August 02, 2017 09:32PM

I defer to Rhyaldrins opinion even though I didn't vote Trump.

jalim August 01, 2017 05:57AM

I'm not saying HIllary had Seth Rich killed bu.... never mind yes I am. (n/t)
