This is where your general mistake is. Noone can be seen as trustworthy. But you can be seen as untrustworthy, the criterion is simple - have you been caught deliberately lying in the past? (Answer "Yes" to tick the checkbox). The first question one should ask himself when reading the information that hypes him up is "what is the supporting data"? If there's no supporting data - discard the information until the data appears. When it appears - scrutinize it.

Let's see an example. There is a report on U.S. striking the Syria. US/UK/France claims one result, Russia claims another. Let's ask the question "Where is the supporting data"?
