Just like I don't mind using intelligence and army and people and whatever resources are at my disposal. It would be stupid to not use the means I have to further my goals.
Thing is - we keep our word, because we consider reputation to be a valuable resource as well. There's a popular saying in Russia - "The deal is more valuable than the money", I wonder if there's a U.S. analogue.
If we've signed a contract and then you behave like an asshole - we'll finish the contract and then when we start to renegotiate the terms we'll be like "ok, now for you being an asshole, the price is twice as high". It will happen, but it will happen ONLY after the initial obligations are fulfilled. And you won't find the contradictory evidence.
What you guys accuse us of doing though is in fact typical for your own behavior. Like Exxon was forcibly pulled (against their will) by the US government out of the Russian Arctic project - [
