All that is moot there considering I'm transferring to school almost completely broke. My loans won't pay for anything but school, unless I figure out a way to take out more than I need privately.

I'm looking for roomies and a job in an area 30 minutes around Downtown Austin if anyone lives there or has any tips. I only have two years of school left and plan to finish in a year and a half, but I need to look for some QA contract game testing work, the type Arolin has mentioned doing in the past, or some minor tech work, or at least something better than a host at a restaurant in the inner-city where driving and parking will be a bitch. I have housing with a half-brother in the area from the start of February to the end of March but it's $500 a month, and I'm hoping to get it lower by the time April rolls around with a roommate or two.

Anyone have any advice or options for striking out in that area?
