You must have missed the part where I made the statement about a small minority who actually backs Bush. We as Americans (the vast majority) are not currently rallying around Bush and his agenda. Those who currently support Bush respout his stupid propaganda and propoganda of the irrational right wing AM radio hosts. The VAST MAJORITY of Americans are not on that boat which is why it's silly and insulting to compare us to Nazi Germany pre WW2.

However, I'd expect foreigners to believe a lot of Americans are like our current administration. Just as I'd expect most people of the world to assume that the people of a country are similar to what their leader is like until they know more of them on an individual level.

For example, if the only Iranian I had heard speak was Ahmadinejad, I'd assume that most Iranians are complete fuckers. However, I know many Iranian-Americans and I know that most of them are very different than that.
