"Not being able to afford a house makes things much more difficult. Owning a house is having equity, its having enough space to raise your children and having an assett which you can sell if times get hard and have enough money to live off of for quite a while.
Generally speaking your average american should be able to own a house rather than rent their entire lives. I for one don't want to see home ownership slip into the category of 'wealthy upper class only'. "

Compared with your statement above that "A house is even more skewed in favor of renting by comparison since there's a whole myriad of extra costs involved. I'm also giving you the benefit of not deducting fees or calculating maintenance fee increases or calculating opportunity costs of buying and selling."
How can a home ownership be skewed in favor of renting if owning a home makes things less difficult?
