What I've seen in the past is that people argue about the deletion until you tell them why

When you say what rule was broken(as in the case of Sam) they say ok and move on.

People only argue it when they don't think they've broken a rule. People argue when they feel like you've deleted a post more because you personally don't like it rather than it was a legitimate violation of the rules.

Posting what rule is broken will not only make you mods appear to be fair in upholding the rules it will serve as a good reminder to people what the rules are and that violations will be acted upon.

Why does it matter? The forum's software is broken and you can view deleted posts easily.

I have not noticed. How do you do that? I'd still be interested in why they are deleting the posts (n/t)

Every time? No way.

DurNominator June 04, 2014 07:13PM

Too much work? Come now.

TJHuron June 05, 2014 04:37AM

Type to where, exactly?

DurNominator June 05, 2014 04:57AM

Maybe on the board you deleted it from? Replace that post with a post about the rule violation

TJHuron June 05, 2014 05:13AM

Let me add some reasoning for my request

TJHuron June 05, 2014 05:22AM

In thread below, Sam had no idea, Sam asked in feedback and now he knows.

I prefer the old way. (n/t)
