Seconded and fwiw

If we are to have a voice, allow us that voice. If the voice is clearly against the rules, then remove it from the forum for being innappropriate.

Too many events have occured, and peopled died, over the type of censorship that is becoming here. Right, wrong, indifferent, do not alter my words, and have it stamped with my name, because you feel the need to shave it.

The written language is an art, a science, and an ultimate expression, if you're going to alter it, you need to simply remove the post. I don't see a middle ground on this aspect, and the poster can simply repost within appropriate context should he/she have broken a rule.

FWIW, if my posts start getting edited and then reposted with my handle stamp, I am going to stop using this website. I also would encourage everyone else to do so as well. At least on the officials it's go, or no go. They don't tamper with posts in that aspect, unless it's an entire post snip, and simply the Imm in question posting what/why they snipped the entire post.

As far as I'm aware, no one has ever claimed it has happened

daurwyn(VIP) January 03, 2008 07:37AM

I noticed it on Pro's thread below.

Death_Claw January 03, 2008 08:39AM

Hmm, you aren't thinking of my editing are you?

daurwyn January 07, 2008 02:53PM

And as soon as we mangle anyone's context, that'd be a very viable complaint. But we don't intend to. nt

Yhorian January 03, 2008 09:20AM

Fine but don't say I didn't warn you or complain about it later on when your good intentions backfire. n/t

Death_Claw January 03, 2008 09:23AM

I agree with Death_Claw

Let's say that there's a big discussion following started by the thread.

How about you wait until we do edit someones ideas/views/experiences, then protest?

I think it natural no one -wants- to be censored. But the silent majority understand its necessity.

adam_gay January 03, 2008 09:59AM

It's not a necessity, but it's a damn handy tool.

I'd far prefer editing out the bad stuff from good posts. Ie, quest info from a pretty good rant on quests. nt

For what it's worth

DurNominator(VIP) January 02, 2008 12:16PM

You're missing the point, us regular folk won't know you guys changed our posts. War is Peace and Freedom is Slavery.~

happyorb January 02, 2008 12:56PM

Are you sure it doesn't say that it was edited by someone? nt

On the pro post below "I know and I wish"

Derexal January 02, 2008 02:09PM

If I had deleted the entire post, you'd all just throw a hissy fit on over-censoring.

Yhorian(VIP) January 02, 2008 04:32PM

There's no need to get defensive.

Death_Claw January 03, 2008 08:43AM

My censored version on what it read before

DurNominator(VIP) January 02, 2008 02:25PM

Personally I am in favor for nuking the post.

Yeah, I agree with Dexiekins.
