Its better to have policy that doesn't allow an abuse of power to begin with then to fight against it once it is in place. I am just stating my opinion towards having a third party edit my posts. If any VIP has edited any one elses post then someone has already edited that individuals ideas/views etc. Maybe you don't grasp what I am saying, but any change whether it is nefarious or not is changing what the original posters intended to post and that is what I feel is wrong about editing. If a post is in violation then just delete it and, if as a VIP you feel it is warranted, explain what was wrong so if the original poster cares to they could repost in a manner that does not break the rules. Do not presume to know what the original poster would want done with what they write, I know it is not something I am comfortable with.
As an aside, I find it important to note that the only people who have posted in support of VIP editing are VIP's themselves while a half dozen non-VIPS have already stated they would not like to have such censorship.
