Personally I am not too worried as I think the only time I can recall having a post deleted is when an entire thread has been pulled. I don't make it a habit to post questionable information as far the rules are concerned. And again I do see that it could be used to make your life easier in some ways, but I will reiterate that I feel deleting post is by far the best way to go. I'll l
I just don't see the need. Dios has been in operation for a very long time without it, why is now a necessity?
As for the silent majority, I just assumed their posts where being deleted so as to look like it was only a small minority of "nut jobs" that disliked this idea. :p
That said silence is not a sign of acceptance for one opinion over another.
QuoteDaurwynIf someone makes one mistake and lets something slip through in a log, it is much easier (and more helpful) to remove the one thing that slipped through and leave the rest.
While there is arguably a benefit to the community in this instance, it does not change the fact that deleting of the post with an explanation allows the same thing to occur. It just puts the onus back on the or
Its better to have policy that doesn't allow an abuse of power to begin with then to fight against it once it is in place. I am just stating my opinion towards having a third party edit my posts. If any VIP has edited any one elses post then someone has already edited that individuals ideas/views etc. Maybe you don't grasp what I am saying, but any change whether it is nefarious or no
I understand that there are uses for it that would be nice from a moderators stand point that are not really objectionable to me as a forum poster, ie editing out the one rule breaking prep or name in a log or some such that was an obvious oversight by the original poster. It is not hard to contrive uses for such a tool that are innocuous and hard to argue against. But, to me editing in general
QuotedurnominatorBut however, there is a minor rule break that can be easily edited out. If the conversation is particularly fruitful, it'd make better sense to edit the post for censorship. When a post is edited, it will be edited in a way that does not take things out of context. If that is not possible, the post will be deleted. VIPs will not be putting words into people's mouths.
I don't have much of an opinion on any of the VIPS positive or negative and I don;t think editting in general would be done with anything but the best intent in mind. That said I don't think it is a good policy for Dios to start editing out objectionable material. The deletion of posts that break the rules has been policy for a long time, people are familiar with that and comfortable
Quotelumikant I've always found with the savages I play that they're always better wearing a bare minimum of gear, even pre-mud.
I have never noticed this to be true. I found wearing metal gear to have a negative effect on the reliability/effectiveness of some skills but I have never found regular ranger skills to work better for savages without armor in general.
I would say a fight with tribunals that started while retrieving that did not end after the retrieval was successful is not a warrantable offense unless the retriever actively continues the fight. By that I mean enters commands, does not attempt to flee, does not word if applicable. If the all that happens is that you try to flee or get out but the tribs restrain that activity by lagging or blo
QuoteIsildurHow important is it that savages not wear armor? Is this *only* for smear mud and warpaint, or do you get some other non-obvious boost from fighting naked?
I never noticed any difference though I will admit I never ever played with those skills. What I did do is always wear 100% non-metal armor and weapons, I think this is where you will see the biggest difference.

Rangers are a stealth class why fight people that are prepped for the fight? The advantage of such classes is to pick the time and be MORE prepared then your opponent. I tend to actually like playing felar and wood-elf rangers that rely on more then big damage and lag but I also know which I have a much easier time landing kills with.
I've played them both, the problem with plains IMO is that while they are "all over", they are often scattered. Pursuit loses its strength when the terrain types are disjointed. I found it was not a fair trade off for losing snare. As for savages, I like them primarily for the huge ambushes.
Reason I would chose mountaineers over marshdwellers is that no giant can play a marshdweller. Giant bearcharge is what IMO can land a lot of kills that other rangers lose out on because they do not have reliable lag. I like marshdweller staves/spears and some of their abilities better in general though.
QuoteWildGirlColor me wrong, but hasn't bearcharge for mountaineers/caverndwellers been a no-go for permalag? It's one-round lag for you and like .9 for them.
That was not my experience with this combo at all. I had very good results with lagging players. So much so I chose to open with bearcharge on people I was pretty sure I would out melee just so they would not flee immediately
I've played around with pretty much all the terrain types and expertise, I think each has the potential to be deadly in the wild. As for deadliest, since the deadliest ranger of all time was Nreisshe and she was the equivalent of forester/survivalist for the majority of her life I would say specifics matter much less then player skill/knowledge. Something to consider, because of the limita
Guess the whole thing could just have been answered with something like: In a world like CF the most probable way glass leggings would come into creation is through some magical means, i.e. who cares how it works it's magic!
I still liked the discussion, I took the miniscule bit of knowledge I had, and learned a lot in the process.
My example of flint glass was just to show a common usage of high density glass. There are 3 general components in glass production. Silica, as you mentioned, a flux ingredient such soda and a stabalizer, such as lead, limestone, or magnesia among others. The addition of the stabalizer is generally where the increase in density and strength comes from. Without the stabalizer silica glass is b
QuoteIsildurSome googling turned up that quartz weighs 2643 kg / m^3.
Interestingly, steel is 7850 kg / m^3.
Leather is supposedly 945 kg / m^3.
Though, one could argue that in order to be effective as armor glass would need to be thicker than steel. I think it's technically harder than steel, but much more brittle. So if you want your leggings not to shatter the first time someon
Looks pretty reasonable, but it might make more sense to remove necromancers, cabal leaders, and early death outliers from the sample since they have one of the following: artificially long lives (cabal leaders), have a player caused age death so the number of hours is necessarily inaccurate (necromancer) or likely fell victim to +age gear, or other such manipulations that resulted in age deaths
This have always worked for me when I want a mino slot. I have a mino name ready and everytime I go to log in I first go to create a new character to see if I can roll this mino. When no slot is available I disconnect and go play a throw away character. While playing my throw away character everytime the game crashes or is reset I try to immediately log back in and create a new character trying
I've received exp rewards for empowerment from both of her IMM characters. I think her comment on the officials is not that she doesn't give exp for empowerment but that she often forgets to give exp when she means too. She did state she doesn't give exp for Maran.
I guess I see it as 1200 exp for a role which I don't see as out of line. I've personally had role a
Nothing. But your looking at this from the wrong point of view. Your assuming that good RP/PK will get noticed all by itself, that is not generally the case, it doesn't even make sense to assume that. If a character does not give a reason for random IMMs to snoop them frequently then they are not going to, and thus 99% of that good RP and good PK is going to get completely missed, sorry b
