That most players would like more IC information sharing, but if history has taught us anything, it's that sharing info is the surest way for something to get changed by the IMMs.
I rarely got gear from Hell and never got to the frozen lake (Maybe took a trip 5 times since it was put in. But, I was always stoked when a bunch of Imperials came back from a successful trip because I couldn't wait to see what they brought me. It's a lot easier to kill an Imperial for Hell gear than it is to get it from Hell. I miss my hellish elementals.
When I played Kycue the Hapless Wanderer, Homesteader of Avalanches, I was betrayed by a char I'd helped out since they were L11. So, after he almost full-looted me when I died, I gave him a tongue-lashing. At one point I said "There is no place in these lands for scum like you".
So, a cool IMM appeared as a bird and started cooing and chilled me out pretty quickly. End of story
There were two lengthy threads on officials stating that the IMMs discussed it and decided the bad outweighed the good when it came to Halloween forms thus the decision to not have them. It boiled down to tons of people playing shifters and deleting if they didn't get a form they wanted. There was an assertion that people weren't invested in their shifter chars.
So, as I pointed out,
25 years is a pretty long run for such a narrow interest. I like doing things I haven't done in CF. If there were two classes and 3 areas, I doubt I'd have played so long. Hell and ST are two tough places with lots of secrets that held a lot of interest for me and others.
Your post reminds me of when people want to dismiss arguments against more gun control with "So, you think people should have nuclear weapons?"
I'm not talking about things that make no sense like all races get 25 attribs across the board. I'm talking about picking your hometown, exploring places made to be explored, and choosing what class you want to play.
ST was close
This was not caused only by the hometown restriction of course. The numbers of areas grew over the time period as well. But even in the short term, the change sort of killed Galadon.

I remember when they did it. Everyone could choose their hometown, but a vast majority picked Galadon because they wanted to be where the action was. After the restriction, the mud felt like a relative ghost town in short order, even with the same # of players. No more auctions, Arbiter got more boring, fewer conflicts...it changed the dynamics in a big way.
As far as Silent Tower, since when
Constantly limiting things people enjoy in a game has a detrimental effect on the number of people who want to play that game.
IMMs: Hmm...a lot of people seem to enjoy picking Galadon as their hometown for some reason.
Answer: No more Galadon hometown! (This was temporary, thankfully)
IMMs: Hmm...a lot of people seem to enjoy Holoween forms. So much so that they ditch their current char t
My thief, Gergan put up a heck of a fight with a 3 on 1 raid and got IMMxp for it. After I finally died, Odara starts talking trash and making threats. A couple min later, he had this title.
I got stuck in an avalanche at hero. A prominent necro friend (frequently snooped I'm guessing) came through and asked me about it. I told them I was content to live out my life there and had everything I needed (I could scavenge for food/water). I got the title once an djinn got me out after I agreed to draw from the deck of fate.
One reason is human nature. The other half is CF's process for recruiting/retaining IMMs over the last decade. It weeds out people who would be more receptive to such a suggestion (or any suggestion for that matter).
And I don't get too worked up about it. But, consider what others may take from your log. In it, you show yourself break cabal dogma by violating the law. You point out that doing so fit your role. I have no problem with that. But, you don't afford the ragers the same consideration when criticizing their behavior. Maybe one or both of them have reasons to ignore the tablet at times, jus
Also, they don't want people "min/maxing".

We have a game where your success doing things is largely based on a random generated number being higher than a calculated number. We have coded actions you can take to effect the calculated number to make your chances better at winning this "roll". But, not only do we not want you to take those actions, we
I was a L15 cleric named Grimreaper. Falleangel (L15 human warrior) was fighting a rager in town and I cast blindness on him. Got Unspeaked by spellbane.
