AFAIK, it lets you dodge like you have 23 dex instead of 20 (assuming your charisma is maxxed) and I'd assume it does the same for evade. Yes, a must have edge for human bards and definitely a noticeable difference.
There might have been things that could have been done to mitigate damages, but at face value, you are level 31 and he is at least level 38 (if he has call of the wild) with equal level pets. That's just a rough match up.
With edge points becoming more scarce, I'm not sure if it's as good of a deal as it used to be, but you can still get it at 15. The only times I've seen it is when I've got at least one of the bonuses from having 5000 exp xp or 10000 obs xp pre 30. You can do both of those by 15 but it will take looking at all the low level stuff you can find pre 5, and then when you get to
Thanks for posting this Ayathkiran.
One additional note on searching for anyone not familiar with pattern matching in ZMUD/CMUD. If you want to search for combinations use * as the wildcard. For example, if looking for any belts that affect strength, search for:
item waist*strength
As you chew on the garlic, you can smell the pungent odor creep from your lips.
You finish eating a small clove of garlic.
Physical effect: 'foul breath' modifies charisma by -1 for 5 hours.
I remember I had an elf mage prepped to the teeth getting ready to fight a necro and in the second round the banshee exploded my heart or some such nonsense. I think someone said it's a check based on con but sheesh, that was a surprise.
Just for examples sake, if we look at 3 scenarios with 25% chance of dodging, 50% chance of dodging, and 75% chance of dodging, here's what the overall percentage chance of dodging if you add in southern winds
25% chance of normal dodge would have 43.75% chance of double dodge (18.75% increase)
50% chance of normal dodge would have 75% chance of double dodge (25% increase)
75% chance of
Their are the obvious choices like warrior/healer that would have ridiculous survivability, but then I started thinking about some other combinations that would just get sick. Necro/muter? Conjie/warrior? Voker/thief?
Probably not nearly the most, but damn I can't remember how many times I've been wandering through the underdark or somewhere to come upon him where he's not supposed to be and to eat a 700hp blast of gas or something in the the first two rounds. What a dick.
Years and years of loyal service and considerable aid to Tribunal and then one mistake for which he tries to make amends. Yep, where's my pitchfork.
I don't even know what the incident entailed, but in all my experiences with Nop he was a pretty solid character. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here.
Anyone else think healer's should only be able to gate to allies and mobs? Also, keep shifter air forms, but maybe flyto should be removed?
I might be wrong, but I think more people would like these changes than not.
I got pretty disgusted when I lost a fight to that fire giant polearm wielding Battle leader about a year ago. I had the walrus, had A/B/S up, was fighting him on water, both started fully healed, and he out damaged me. Took the luster off that character.
The below thread got me thinking about overpowered situations throughout the years and it got me wondering what's your favorite? I'll kick this off with a few I remember:
-- Istendil + Eriwal (Lich plus questy wolverine form) = *shudder*
-- The thief + anaconda combo (forget names) when the anaconda constrict worked on sleeping foes.
-- Sophia - First giant to make use of polearm
For people complaining about fair, I wish I had a log of Nazmorghul as a mortal one and two shotting entire groups of people with his acid blast. Not sure that was fair, but it sure as hell was a lot of fun back then.
The only thing i've noted to go off of here is that I had 5 of us shielded from fire (2 of those were an elemental and an archon) and a hero level nova on us all took about 100-120 mana. Seeing as how that's a fairly dramatic case, I'd say go for dispel every time.
He may not be a powerhouse at pk (neither am I) but the guy just keeps coming back against the odds. It seems like Empire might be picking up a little, but I have consistently seen that guy over and over as the only Imperial logged in. He also doesn't go pout in a corner whenever he dies.
I hope you keep sticking it out. I know I'd have more fun if I could make myself play your st
As someone who enjoyed exploring what I could of the silent tower back before it required imm lovin, I have no idea why you needed to make that area more inaccessible. It was already a bitch learning how not to die in there. It really is to a point now that 99% of the player base (or possibly even 100% of the non immortal player base) will never get to experience the majority of that area. Tha
Funnyone actually made a good point (although I don't think he was aware of it).
"There are many cabals in the game, but to make this game fun, we need a constant presence in all the cabals."
We have to be realistic about player numbers being down (compared to 10 years ago), and when oftentimes you log in to 5 to 10 people in hero range (yes, sometimes it gets up to 15/20) an
First, minor rant about Nexus. I like the concept but the fact that it's gauge switches back and forth so quick makes it a little ridiculous. All is balanced, you go to group with someone, 5 minutes later you're getting scolded because light's in power and you should now be fighting this person you said you'd group with. That's just f'ing gay.
Now, for how it s
Being the crag soarer in that log, they are pretty good. They dodge pretty well, regen a bit (not as well as sand lizard if i recall), have fly to, but their damage output is pretty lackluster.
Was kicking myself in that fight Oshui because I'd just realized I should shift back to snow badger and give you one last furor for the W when things turned south quick. Ah well, learn and move o
