I half-expected the trap, but prepped for Throkman, hence me removing the blue cap, which had -10 mental. I could have enlivened resolve (-19 mental) or savage instincts (sleep immunity) but wen
There was a time people would fart around in market square or at the potion store, but now, everyone is on the move. I can barely even jack someone without thief waylay.
With deft touch and blackjack, you can rob someone blind in about 2 ticks. Problem is, they will know they were robbed - and its more fun for them to never have a clue (stay hidden always).
Go up to deft touch and see how
defense is key - it's easy to get groups, and you can hold your own if you walk into something nasty when exploring.
utility gives you some nice enlivens to keep you safe, and forms that often can camo or hide or something so you can get the hell out.
however, offense makes it easier to learn to pk, to finish off mobs (reroll for a def regen form if you don't get), and so on.
Shifters are great way to get feet wet with a mage. With a defensive shifter, you'll have easy time getting a group - everyone needs a tank, and with shifters, skill spamming probably least necessary. to an extent.
go utility for a good chance at getting hide or camo - since you are used to stealth classes - you'll want to major in utility to get slyness of the fox in case you get a
you don't need the quest ring, just the rings in general are +10 hp. there are +20 rings around, too.
at rank 30 it gets fun, but you can do alright with a shifter with crap gear, then worry about it later. I've seen level 47 shifters with fine suits from the academy. powerranking mofos.
Let's see, gems in fires you can hold from near evermoon for some hp, snow worm gear, si
I know some folks post logs of getting 10k explore xp or whatever, but the most I've ever gotten is 3k from an area. It depends a lot on the area, and the things you look at. I'm sure there are people here who have lists of which areas reward the best obs/explore xp at which ranks, but basically, it varies.
(on left, DIKU-Wiki) has a list of ranking equipment for low levels. Basically you want +HP, maybe throw in some saves. But just by looking over the item lists in the wiki you can see lots of options that are easy to get. moss cloak on ground near seantryn, sandy brown cloaks on hunters south of hamsah, belt of raindrops on mage hiding in docks or the wide bronze belt. rings of telenius. on and
am playing util/def, but haven't broke 40 yet. Didn't get a regen form, which maybe would make killing the random big mob easier. Has been slow-going, my util forms can't tank. And, you know how the grass is always greener.
appreciate the tips - first mage in ages, so not sure what I should expect.
Looking for a class to solo explore and rank/kill mobs with, and I really don't want to deal with a conjurer. Tried a defensive shifter, and it's kind of a bitch.
Can a transmuter solo lucky blows npcs?
Yes, I realize I said "hard" and "lucky blows".
Played cloud ranger as a comeback character, and got my ass smeared. Low int, low dex is a big problem ranking, and there are specific ways you need to spam skills to get around low int that a newbie isn't going to know.
I suggest human ranger.
I think basically, it's only gonna fire 2 backstabs if you didn't do too much damage on the first one, or more accurately, take away too high a % of hit points from the target.
When I had an imperial thief and fought mostly sanc'd paladins, despoiled scions, and resisting ragers, I really kinda wished I had it.
