and his characters come across as dumb. Some not-so-bad ideas but
nothing groundbreaking that hasn't been done better, before.
I read the first book and half of the second and then I deleted the entire
trilogy, after being sorry for wasting my time.
If you enjoy smart *hard scifi*, read Blindsight and Echopraxia by Peter Watts.
Intelligently written and have ideas that go far beyond
It all starts with how the vision for the game was corrupted
over time into some half-assed idealistic watered-down bullshit story
that tried to shoehorn players into behaviors that were downright stupid and
not aligned with the values that made CF great (!) to begin with.
Nep and Raybaer leaving was a big blow to the game, worse
than Zulg. I feel that Nepenthe was a much better coder than
to a degree. Manipulation implies deception, that's not the case here.
I used my original post to clarify this point because there exists the view
that Assange is nothing but a pawn of the big bad russian masterminds.
As I've described, this is not the case. Assange has his own agenda,
one that has been public for many years. He was part of the group
of people that, close to 3 d
Assange has written in detail in the past regarding his methodology.
That predates the current incarnation of Russian cyberwarfare against the US.
He wrote, _in 2006_:
"Traditional attacks on conspiratorial power groupings, such as assassination, cut many high weight links. The act of assassination — the targeting of visible individuals, is the result of mental inclinations honed for
otherwise I don't think rangers even make the cut re: priorities even though
they've been long due for an overhaul.
Assuming of course they'll find someone to do all these changes you mentioned,
which sounds far-fetched. They won't even fix obvious bugs and stupid skill behaviors
that I've gotten tired posting about over the years. None of that would seriously matte
stop arguing with people who can't think outside the box ;-0
Let's ask Shamanman what he thinks about felar APs rather
than Murphy or Matrik. I wouldn't ask Torak either, given that
he's cheated his ass off with pretty much every single AP
he's ever played, and didn't really achieve success given the
levels of cheating and OOC coordination he employed.
given his level of experience and his aim of learning to PK well.
He needs to figure out the basic-yet-extremely-important aspects of the game
I outlined *SOLO*, because that's the best (fastest) way this knowledge will *STICK*.
Having other players of varying skill levels drag you around and show you
"things" will do far more harm than good, in terms of picking up bad habi
Kstatida is a semi-new player, def not a vet.
He's progressed enormously in a short period of time, and I'd like to take some credit
since I've given him plenty of advice. I also think that the way he chose to
"learn CF" has a lot in common with what my "method" is.
Murphy on the other hand has been playing for many years, he's a veteran of the gam
at least for your first few chars. Sure, others will show you stuff
but it's knowledge that won't stick, knowledge you won't be
immediately taking advantage of and knowledge that will overwhelm you..
If you want to focus "heavily" on PK, forget cabals for now.
Play an uncaballed hiding class, human, ideally assassin

than if you picked a better language.
I would suggest Erlang but I know it's not for everybody.
My second pick would be Common Lisp (SBCL or ClozureCL).
My third pick would be Smalltalk (Pharo).
All of these languages are interactive and let you modify the
program as it runs, without taking it down or reloading parts
of it and thus losing state. Everything stays running.

surprised they haven't banned you for them.
This one especially should be a major NO-NO:
A radiant angel's wrath *** DEMOLISHES *** Sialecha!
Sialecha has fled!
Sialecha leaves north.

They aren't here.
$TARGET leaves $DIRECTION => $DIRECTION; $INIT
due to information propagation proliferation and shortening of the feedback loop.
Pretty much everyone in the first world is exposed to it now, and the degree
of exposure will only increase going forward. At some point, you're nothing but an information
processing node and your worldview, self-model and even reality itself is defined by the
information that flows through you. You think
You could get edge points from PK kill "tiers" , which was
a stupid mechanic but you also got edge points every X # of kills period, regardless of level.
Both these sources have been removed. There are no edge points from PKs period.
so there have been a few critical posts but nothing even close to
the shitstorms of years past that other IMMs had no problem
dealing with (mostly by completely ignoring *).
I hope for Umiron's sake, that he didn't delete due to these and if
he did, well he had no business being in this position to begin with.
Anyone who can't disassociate himself from the playerbase when
