Some years ago a new generation of young players tried to overtake poker with math (and bots). But people just moved to unlimited holdem and other games where math is not everything.
QuoteCosimoacross (probably) hundreds of hands in a single game and multiplied by the number of matches a serious player goes into, the skill of the players emerges -- I mean, this is evidenced by the somewhat consistent existence of tiers of skill at all.
Skill means that you have better EV against noobs, but better EV is not equal to a certain win. Thing is that you can't play unlimited nu
You misinterpret my reasoning.
Still, it's quite possible that an average russian poker player (who plays outside of his country, knows language and such) is more succesful than an average american player. But it's a quite random game and if you take 100 "americans" and 10 "russian" you will probably see more money earned by americans just because of quantity.

But 2nd place on the WSOP main event 2008 was a russian guy.
And this year several russian players made it to the last day of the main event. However, nobody managed to advance to the final table.
Not sure what reasons should be applied to the whole population. What do you mean?

The big question, though, is the extent to which it is advantageous to be "smart" using the typical definition of "smart". Take competitive chess. It takes a very specific set of mental skills and is very much something you improve at with practice. You don't see any morons among the set of chess masters. Then again, few chess masters are also super-geniu

So you're essentially saying that CF's Russian players are smarter than their non-Russian counterparts mainly because they come from the elite upper crust of Russian society whereas non-Russian players are more evenly spread among the social strata.
Basically this. On average.
For each particular russian CF'r the mileage may vary. I have seen russians who can't p
They are in the upper half of russian population because:
- they are able to use a computer and the internet
- they are able to speak in english (barely or not) in the country where English isn't used. For example, it's not that uncommon for indians to speak in English, for russians, however, it's much less common.
- they are able to connect and play a foreign RPG game.

Should they argue about their tactic being perfectly legit I will counter it with my "full looting is perfectly legit as well".

You lower a pitch-black lance and charge Solestria!
Solestria is stunned by your charge!
Seizing a lucky opportunity, you take advantage of the situation.
Your charge does UNSPEAKABLE things to Solestria!

Considering that you worry about PK count more than everybody else it sounds funny.
PS. I don't care about PK count nor I cared in last 8 years. Moreover, I offered several times to remove this stats from PBFs.
Hatred of magic is the primary concept of Battleragers.
You can have various roles but they all should incorporate hunting mages. If you don't, then your role doesn't fit well the cabal (it can be a great role and you can go solo or join other cabals. Like a druid in outlanders who hunted mages).
Similarly, you can't create valid roles for other cabals if it violates their primar
They are sooo dead meat.
Regardless of context.
A rager wanna be says a mage "live on"
That is horrible RP. You can come with OOC excuses, but at best, they are OOC excuses. If you don't want to multikill, just hunt other targets, but shut the fuck up. Telling that to a mage is horrible RP.
