On the contrary, it's a very tactical skill. It does nothing other than block commands from the opposition. So clearly it's a tactical choice. Not to mention, since bash relies on size difference in a non-rager setting there are pre-combat options aswell. Whether bash is too strong (I don't think it is), is a matter of discussion, but to say it's not a tactical choice is ridic
As someone proposed below, making barrier harder to get and easier to find might be a solution. Or another very viable solution would be to make sleek spots distinguishable in a way other than finding your sleeks. This way you prevent having to re-explore places. And for finding sleeks, no you can't just 'check magey places', since I know at least two old sleek spots that are in an
That's just the thing. Sleek rods are abs on a stick. So, if you don't want to give abs on a stick, the logical solution is to *gasp* not give abs on a stick. Instead they decided to make finding abs on a stick a pain in the ass, third time now. Game balance is up to discussion, whether mages are balanced with or without abs is up to discussion. The fact that 65%ish dam redux is availab
If there were centuries outside, there was a big chance that by storming the fort there and then would've equally meant massive faceown. Yet team red aura chose to give an outmatched enemy free walk to retrieve, and then decides to post a log of how cool they are when all they did was HIDE at inners against a retrieval group. So who is the real winner?
This is exactly the lameness I'
With a good focused attack + bail, there is a chance of taking down some imperials. And not pressing the gtfo button quick enough is lethal.
Here is what should happen:
Fort enters, Humberto bashes Mirto, paladins wrath him, thief stays below council to initiate if he flees. They try to take Mirto down fast, planning to bail if he's not dead, or close to dead in 5 rounds. If Mirto dies,
What, did you really expect them to come? I have no idea on class matchup involved, but I'm 80% sure I'd rather raid fort as empire than the other way around, with the groups like in this log.
With Eqithan (cloud sword spec) I remember pulling out every pre I could muster, and got outmeleed by v_vega's hpm warrior. We both had haste, he probably had some minor preps, I had stone skin, shield, aura and sanc on top of it. Permabashed him for something like 20 rounds, but couldn't finnish it off, and had to start flurrying at some point to kill entwine.
When you log on, check where pk and see 3 potential enemies, and start reading notes, you must die. Every time. The day that stopped happening is when cf started to dwindle into a pile of crap.
30 % extra exp across the board
30 % increase in skill learning across the board
Ranking focused more into hot spots. The problem with having such a wide array of fairly equal ranking spots results in everybody always having a free ranking spot. People are so accustomed to avoiding forest areas when rangers are on, going to arial city when ragers are on, and in general going to ridiculous len
It's not really to say you guys take no risks, just that most (if not all) of the logs over the last couple of pages I saw heated rants over, it didn't really seem like that was the case. Last time we had the chance to pitch a battle though, we had some good ones. Sadly they weren't really match ups that result in very many deaths. It's a sad thing when cf deteriorates into a
Guys, for real. I've been considering coming back for some more cf action after taking a break off, and I've been reading through the logs to get in to the jive. From what I see every single cool group on group fight deteriorates into a flame fest over wah wah who is the biggest camper/full looting jackass/ganger/pussy/various and master of general asshattery. Everyone seems to take a h
water, lightning, ooze, earth, fire, frost, air
Lightning, fire and ooze are the super duper must haves, lightning for a terrain independant one round damage spell that packs good punch, ooze for quicksand, and fire for nova (I will personally drop any voker who isn't doing unspeaks after 35 in ~.03 seconds ymmv) and shield of flames (never leave home without shield of flames)

Dagger specs most certainly are not a problem for invokers/conjies/muters. Some shifters rape them too. I agree I was crying bullshit when I was playing a cloud sword spec, and even when I prepped out the wazoo dagger specs would in general outmelee me.
It's not the game/class/cabal/w/e it's the players at the keyboard. I've played all cabals, and I've been plenty eager to turn on the offense regardless of numbers. Dunno what has changed while I was away 6 months, but when I was last playing a scion the cabal was a can of whoopass in its entirety.
