Then you might as well remove the "who" command because it's somewhat OOC to just know who all is in the world at that time. And then you have to think about taking out the WHERE command as well because without some kind of crazy 7th sense, you wouldn't know everyone that's in a forest the moment you enter.
I think through the years the IMM's have made some chang
I haven't been around in a while and was just curious if anything with learning rates of skills/spells has change in quite some time?
This is I think what inevitably led to my downfall due to my somewhat perfectionist personality type. I don't have a whole lot of time to play these days anyways, and it seemed like over the years the ability to learn skills and spells has continued t
I can remember the matron mother and tiamat sitting in market square and some thief running around with an avg 80 shadow dagger. Made for some painful backstabs.
Started in 95, mainly because had a computer class where a friend introduced me. Shortly after I was doing all I could to get a 38.6k modem installed on our home computer so I could MUD.
I was never big on (or good at) the roleplay side of things, I always liked the strategy involved and learning the world and game mechanics. What really probably made CF stick for me was the people there tha
You played because I offered to teach you how to play CF if you taught me how to play the guitar. I've got to say, you're better at CF than I am at the guitar, I think I got hosed.
I've got a list of about 60 spots I like to check for sleeks (not including the generic here). Some of those are unconfirmed but most of them I believe are valid. Also, not to get into the "woe is me" scenario here, but with my current char I have checked just about every single one twice over and haven't found a single sleek. Plus have done a lot of aimless wandering with
Question is really about the coyote in general. I read the bit I could find on the wiki but it didn't help me with a decision. I know acute vision on a familiar is nice, but if it doesn't really help me with the kind of character I had in mind, is there any other reason to stick with the coyote or should I just reroll?
Which also leads me down another train of thought that would pr
I would be much more inclined to play if you didn't have to put the hours upon hours into a character to have any real fun with it. I feel like for me anyways this has gotten even worse with the introduction to edge points. I am somewhat OCD when it comes to stuff like that so I spend a while at lower ranks getting obs xp, running quests, etc, and by the time I get to mid ranks I already s
All else being equal, same race, same class, same stats (and we'll assume morale is the same) can two separate characters learn at completely different rates?
I know there is always the luck stat you can't see that probably plays a part and of course you're always reliant on the RNG, but it seems I've played 24 and 25 int characters with decent morale that just don't l
Hopefully this hasn't already been asked - did a quick search and didn't find anything.
Are there some solid ways to boost morale if you are solo? I know having a higher level, high charisma group leader helps out, but I've never really found anything worthwhile you can do while solo.
I know there is some gear out there that supposedly helps, but i've worn several piece
Anybody been around long enough to remember the test servers?
Auto level 40
Standard newbie sacks with pretty sick stuff
I remember a thief running around with an avg 80 dagger (no dual backstab needed)

It would have lost its flair soon enough, but was fun for a few days.
Since you started the quest for it by buying a clock, you could basically buy as many clocks as you wanted (i think they were like 12 copper a piece) and go get 20/30 etc sa'angreal at once by repeating the quest.
Keep in mind this was back when you could donate items to empire and get their worth in gold. Considering those sa'angreal were worth something like 20,000 a piece, I thin
Is there actually a quest to be done in the kobold warrens? There's a whole lot of stuff to be found looking around but I couldn't figure any kind of quest out.
No details wanted, just confirmation that yay or nay a quest exists.
Some of this info may be a bit dated but here goes:
2nd tier:
-- Best i've seen is the tuara lizard - does some damage and usually regens well enough to be a continuous tank at those ranks
-- Second best for me would probably be the wombat, dodges semi well and seems like it had one pretty decent attack a round
3rd tier:
-- Best is a close call between the sand lizard and the bobcat
I haven't played a rager in forever but don't they basically just have to make one kill before they can become applicants and get truesight? Doesn't seem like enough of an incentive to base your race or class decision on....

A sudden pain shoots through your leg as someone kicks at your knee!
Before you can recover, someone's punishing sweep kick forces you to collapse.
Sensing the final attack, you just manage to roll out of the way.Assassin steps out of the shadows.
Assassin's assassination attempt devastates you!

I think that the original point was to minimize time spent practicing. Yes you can just solo rank every character and skills will go up naturally, but I know personally I don't have near the time to play that I used to and I'd rather not spend it solo ranking for hours on end.
Of course because of this exact thing I stay away from just about anybody with less than 20 int.
I believe the higher your commerce xp level gets, the more it takes to get additional points. Naturally this just happens as you get to higher ranks you sell and barter things that are worth more. Just a theory though.
Bored so I thought I'd try a pseudo-poll. What do people feel is a normal amount of each kind of experience to have by hero? Here's how i think my characters normally shape up, have no idea how this stands up to other people.
Observation: 3000-4000ish
Exploration: 4000-5000ish
Commerce: 2000-3000ish
Imm: 1000ish
I have a feeling there's quite a bit more potential than wh
I think there might be something to the leveling bit. I've seen several times where i have pretty good skill gains right after I gain a level. I wonder if each consecutive skill gain gets less likely while at the same level or if you have x number of skill gains before the difficulty goes up and all of that resets when you level.
Just seems to be a pattern. Or it could just be that the
I'm not sure i like the idea of starting every battle trying to get two or three dispels in regardless of what type of mage character you play. This seems to take away from the diversity of the various mage classes.
Also, been a while since i've played a voker, but I remember having a hard enough time against villagers given that they seemed to spellbane at least 2 out of every 3 sp
I understand that imm given, observation, exploration, and commerce xp all count towards edge points, but what about quest xp?
I know that some quests give an understanding of commerce which helps edge points, but what about the quests that just give xp?
I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been discussed but i tried to search and couldn't find anything.
