I also play this game largely due to the role playing aspect. So I enjoy following immortals which I think imbue a character with more substance and adds just an extra layer for RP.
It all depends on the imm, a few do give little bouts of Imm xp for chats depending how the chat goes.

Generally speaking they have always been hints and once exploring the area referenced i've been able to find the wand.

He has made posts on officials previously that his religion caters for all skill levels, you simply have to pick achievable goals.
I'm not saying your not skillful because you are, simply druids are challenging to play if you haven't played them before.

Once I hit mid - late thirties I find no issue with this. There are plenty of light items (wands/pills/held items) that can be bartered and gathered in bulk for heals.)
Once you are in outlander prepping is considerably easier due
Rank to lv 15 and pledge to the Huntress. You get the harvest skill, so that solves bartering for food.
Why are you buying gear?
You can gear effectively at all ranks without ever buying any gear. Ever.
Use the wiki guide, it pretty effectively guides you to plenty of things to get without buying them.
