Generally speaking, is gearing your character for save vs breath worth what you sacrifice in terms of stats & damage roll when attempting to fight powerful dragon NPCs? With the highest-level dragons being "hooded" at hero, the odds of making the saving throw aren't in your favor even when the player stacks up a great deal of save vs breath equipment.

It should also be noted that pierce comes with two separate echoes when it successfully lands--a standard echo and another one that references "opening up a painful wound". This is without the speardancer edge.

The more you can stack up various forms of damage reduction along with the Fire Giant HP, Human/Elf dodging, and parrying under any circumstances, the more true that becomes.
