I wasn't really around or paying all that
much attention to Sylvan during the younger
stages, so all I have to go by is what I'm
told by other Immortals and what I read/hear
from others. We can get into arguments
regarding what sylvan is, what it was, what
it was originally supposed to be, etc until
we're blue in the face, but who cares. This
is the way Sylvan is, and it'll be the way
Sylvan is until I die or leave. If you want
to pass judgement on the roleplay or actions
of Sylvans, that's your prerogative. But
until you play one or see it from the other
side (since I've taken over, that is), your
arguments are worthless and I'll not see them
for anything but spiteful, childish whining.
Some thoughts in response to the "fourth age"
of Sylvan below.
> Now a fourth a stage is born. This came largely with the advent of Kadizine's imm what'shisface and then Sebeok. Roleplay is generally kept in high regard(though seeing that Arolin was Ponting leads me to question the integrity of that highhorse that Sylvan members like to place their rp on) and bloodlust was again worked more heavily into the mix.
Re: Ponting, he tried hard generally, made
a few blunders and was yelled at for them,
and even came close to getting bounced.. I
don't hold previous incarnations against
anyone, and his rp was adequate.
>So what you have now is a group of Sermaks and Crystanthias that are rationalizing and legitimizing their place within the cabal by maintaining a higher level of rp.
By "Sermaks and Crystanthias" I'm assuming
you mean the killer-type of Sylvan. Read
below.
>Uniqueness of the cabal is still shot to hell as all you have is the "We hate this and this and we're going to kill them all to prove it" mentality that is part of just about every cabal in CF.
Not every sylvan is this way, not even half
are. Sure, you have a few who will find you
wherever the hell you are and kick your
teeth in if you're a defiler, but there's
many who'd just assume leave you alone unless
you're actively defiling. There's a place in
the cabal for both outlooks, but everyone
ends up complaining about the killers since
they're more high profile.
