That might be true for a Rager ranger, but regular rangers can use entangle, staves, and scrolls to start fights against polearm specs. It's better than taking a charge set.

Thats my biggest gripe about charge set, especially being a ranger. If you're going up against a polearm spec, you can pretty much forget about having the upper hand.
