A lot of people on this forum tear down those who ask for information regarding a particular race/class combo or weapon specialization. The most common response seems to be, "Roll one up and play one yourself."
I agree that this is a great tactic for learning things about Carrion Fields. I also agree that spoonfeeding is regarded as an easy way out for people who don't really care to find things out for themselves. However...
While I appreciate the time and dedication that the Immstaff takes to create and maintain this game and the characters that make up this world, many of them are able to do something that I cannot. I stayed home sick from work today and managed to actaually play for more than two hours at a time. I would love to be able to sit at my comp and play and play and play, but I have other obligations. Am I getting to the point yet? Maybe I should now.
Because of my time restrictions, I cannot afford to blow 100 hours on a character just to see if a certain concept works. Spending more than 20 hours on a character almost always means it's a "keeper". I just think that some of you should put a bit more thought into your responses. Can this person find the answer within a reasonable amount of time? Must he or she gain 30 ranks to find out? What if this person is really a CF-newbie?
I give a lot of credit to those of you who have taken the time to learn the secrets of this world. This post is not intended to encourage laziness of the CF populace, merely to help others understand a predicament that plagues a few of us (or maybe just me). Either way, your comments are appreciated.
