To be honest, and I know this is going to sound a lot like mindless bragging (but it's not mindless--it is bragging, though), virtually any other character would have died in that situation. I was fully prepped. If I wasn't, I'd have died. I hasted my mobs in advance, or else the archon would've been slowed, not moving at normal speed, and he'd have tanked it easily. I had a ring of regeneration, the stoneform amulet, and a generally ridiculous suit of gear to back up my preparation. I didn't panic, despite having no idea Kamal was even on, much less waiting for me. I had the right magical tools to finish the job. I knew what he was trying to do, and I knew how to keep him from doing it (it's no coincidence that I re-flashed him just as it wore off every time).

On their end, Gergran was, for lack of gentler words, a fucking moron. He seemed to forget that he was a healer, and not a warrior--probably wearing all that dam gear affected his brain. He insected himself and then did nothing while letting me kill him. I couldn't *BELIEVE* that he died to me in that situation. If he'd played a proper support role, I was in trouble. If he hadn't taken his sweet time getting to me (how can it possibly take a healer 5 minutes real time to reach the grove?), I wouldn't have even been able to get the sapling back.

What should/could Kamal have done differently? Three things, in order of importance.

1) Beast call the ARCHON, not me! That takes care of it without exposing him to additional damage needlessly. If he doesn't have to flee, I lose that fight.

2) Kill the elemental first. That's always the top priority if you're defending a cabal item, or should be. If they can't do damage, they're not getting their item back. Elementals don't have that much hp, and most importantly, it was INSIDE a cabal. Why does this matter? No tracking! camo;ambush fire;flee;[re-enter], repeat for an unspeak every time (given the ridiculous suit he had). Suddenly, all my damage potential is gone.

3) Shield cleave me. I was tanking ridiculously well there.

Now, in reality, I wouldn't have died. I had a "get-out-of-jail-free" pass at the ready, as I almost always do when raiding Sylvan, but still, I'd have lost the fight.

I don't know as much about bards as I should, admittedly. What level are you? You should really, really try to hero ASAP... it makes a world of difference. I'll leave bard commentary to someone else.
